An association since 2017

A voice for the people who drive.

Taxiunionen brings together app taxi drivers and operators in Sweden. We organise drivers and operators, engage with authorities and decision-makers, and work for a taxi industry you can make a living from.

Why we exist

Thousands of drivers work longer for less.

We work in an industry full of pressure, worry and stress. Many drivers and operators have identified the causes — but naming a problem is not the same as solving it.

Changing our situation takes energy, initiative and solutions. Taxiunionen was founded by operators and drivers to make the industry better, more stable and more secure.

About Taxiunionen

Organising

We bring drivers and operators together to pursue shared issues and strengthen their voice in the taxi industry.

Authorities

We talk with the Transport Agency, the Tax Agency and other bodies that shape our working days.

We explain to the public, the media and decision-makers what app taxi work actually looks like.

Taxi drivers need political clarity, not only sympathy

Taxiunionen's chair Nasar Khan argues that the problems of the taxi industry require political rules and legislation, not only sympathy for drivers. The original article is in Swedish.

Knowledge & advocacy

A knowledge hub for taxi, gig work and platform work.

We are building an open knowledge base on regulation, working conditions and the politics that affect app taxi. We keep facts, our own positions and external sources apart.

Our work

What we have done.

Concrete activities and results since the association started in 2017 — organising, authority dialogue, advocacy and media.

Member benefit

Insurance through your membership.

As a member you can get access to an insurance solution built for taxi operations — a benefit that may mean a significant financial saving for drivers and operators. Terms and price examples will be published once verified.

Fair Taxi

When the door closed, the members built their own alternative.

Taxiunionen sought dialogue with the large app companies about the conditions of drivers and operators. During 2023 that dialogue was effectively shut down — by several companies at almost the same time.

Members then decided on the way forward and voted to create their own member-owned alternative. That became Fair Taxi.

Member benefits

Practical value, every week.

As a member you get access to partners who understand the taxi trade — from bookkeeping and migration law to fuel, Tesla service and taximeter installation.

Together we can.
